About Robin
Hey There!
I’m Robin, a qualified counsellor, and see clients in my private practice, Forster or online with Zoom. With four adult children, I’m also a grandmother, and love bush hiking, reading true stories, and drinking great coffee. Counselling, social justice and disability are issues I care deeply about, and I love connecting with people—particularly seeing people reach their true potential no matter what may hold them back, be it disability, discrimination, or just the traumas of life.
My person-centred counselling approach respects everyone’s values. Your uniqueness is my focus, and as an integrative Counsellor, I may draw on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solutions Focused Therapy, or Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy helping you become unstuck, better deal with painful thoughts and feelings, embracing a rich, meaningful life. I work with people grieving and am a volunteer counsellor with the National Association for Loss and Grief NALAG.
I’ve worked extensively with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Brain Injury, the Elderly, Women's Health, and Couples, with a special focus on NDIS participants working on Relationship and Social Skills development, including assertiveness and emotional regulation. My Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care background is beneficial for those seeking a faith-based approach. As a registered PREPARE/ENRICH Facilitator, I’ve helped many couples identify and understand and build relational strength and growth. Some couples I work with are conflicted, and there are those who have fallen out of love or who have problems with sexual intimacy. At Counselling Solution, I also provide Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Counselling.
Registered with the ACA, Australian Counselling Association, I earned my Post Graduate counselling qualifications in 2011 with Sydney College of Divinity. I am currently working towards completing my Master of Counselling, Torrens University.
