Counselling provides life opportunities for you to explore dissatisfaction, difficulties and distress you are experiencing, in your own life, your relationships and circumstances. Counselling can help you see things more clearly, perceive new perspectives, and through talking things over, can help facilitate more or better choices and reduce confusion.
My solution-focused techniques and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) help you better deal with painful thoughts and feelings for embracing a rich, meaningful life. My person-centred approach, means I put you at the centre of everything I do, recognising your complexity and uniqueness. I’ll guide and support you, believing you hold the inner knowledge of what would make your life better. Together we will engage your unique strengths and skills to resolve your difficulties. Throughout this process, you make your own choices and actions.

Face-to-Face or Online Counselling
Most clients meet at my rooms at 9 Mark St, Forster and in certain cases, at some other mutually agreed place. Telephone and online counselling is available for those who find face-to-face meeting difficult due to time, distance or other reasons.

Walk & Talk therapy is another method some clients prefer. Making time for yourself in nature is a well proven natural healing method. Being present in the here and now, listening to gentle ocean sounds and wind in the trees combined with the rhythm of walking plays a part in you hearing your inner voice, finding perspective and learning to let go.

Group Therapy—Having run many successful groups over the years, I am a skilled Group Facilitator. Group Therapy provides a safe place for participants to share, learn and grow from hearing each other’s shared experiences. Core group programmes and topics I cover include: Sexuality and Intimacy, Motherhood, Self Esteem and Confidence, Anger Management, Memory Skills, and Life Harmony & Balance. There’s something very special about coming together in a safe group environment with a common purpose and similar life stories that shows how we can each solve our own problems.
Contact me about upcoming group sessions, or suggest a topic you’d like to explore.

People seek counselling for many different reasons. Sessions for individuals usually run around 50-minutes and 75-minutes for couples (and NDIS clients 60-minutes). During your first session we discuss your particular needs and desired outcomes before agreeing together on a counselling plan. Most people benefit from around four to six sessions or more, usually at fortnightly intervals. Because of their unique challenges, NDIS clients benefit from a longer term engagement.
Yes, I understand how people living with disability have special needs for accessing, expressing, and understanding information, and our Counselling Solution sessions are focused on your unique needs and abilities. My counselling rooms at Forster Health Solutions, are wheel chair accessible, and we have an accessible toilet.
I've worked within the disability arena since 1994, developing training resources, educating workers, and running support groups. In the late 1990s I was the community development worker for the Brain Injury Association NSW, helping people with brain injury develop life skills for a better life. I regularly cover issues around sexuality, relationships, women's health, body image, abuse, and emotional regulation. More recently, since 2020, I also operate as a support worker with a specialist focus on ASD clients (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and ADHD. I worked for a federally funded disability program, coordinating responses to ensure participants/provider requests and feedback were managed appropriately.
I provide services to both private paying clients and NDIS Plan and Self-Managed participants. The NDIS recognises counselling as an important intervention for people who live with disability. Counselling Solution sessions are available under the NDIS category: Improved Daily Living Skills—Individual Counselling—support item 15_043_0128_1_3
