    Medicare

The Australian government restricts who may offer Medicare Rebates, and does not yet permit Counsellors and Psychotherapists to participate in the Medicare rebate system. Therefore, Medicare Rebates are not yet available for Couple Therapy and Counselling with either Counsellors or Psychologists.

However, we maintain comparable pricing to what you might expect to pay after the Medicare rebate, and furthermore, two significant benefits of not using Medicare are greater privacy and autonomy, where a) you control the privacy of any counselling attendance history, as this will not be included on your government health record; and b) there is no limit to the number of sessions you may attend.

  • Yes, Robin provides services to both private-paying clients and NDIS Plan and Self-Managed participants.

The NDIS recognises counselling as an important intervention for people who live with disability. Counselling Solution offers sessions under the NDIS category: Improved Daily Living Skills—Individual Counselling—support item 15_043_0128_1_3.

With a long background of working with people living with disability, Robin understands how they and their families have special needs for accessing, expressing, and understanding information, and our sessions are focused on the participant's unique needs and abilities. Our counselling rooms are wheelchair accessible, and there is an accessible toilet.

Since 1994, Robin has worked in the disability arena developing training resources, educating workers, and running support groups. In the late 1990s Robin was the community development officer for the Brain Injury Association NSW, helping people with brain injury develop life skills for a better life. She regularly covers issues around sexuality, relationships, women's health, body image, abuse, and emotional regulation. More recently, since 2020, Robin has a specialist focus on ASD clients (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and ADHD

It’s a scary thing trying to get help, but Counselling Solution took a lot of that anxiety and fear out of the equation. I was able to get a recommendation on which therapist would best fit my needs.
